If the Tundra get roughly 15 mpg and used $80 in gas and your car would only use $25 to $30....What do you drive?
You would be getting better then 40 mpg. Since the roof rack won't fit on the Smart, are you driving the Prius or the Jetta TDI?
Roof racks suck really, the best solution? Bring back the mini truck.

He's obviously reminiscing about driving a car in 2003.
He wiped out, the board smacked his head and he has temporary amnesia of the 200% gas price increase in the past years.

The bro's and their trucks down in OC crack me up. Do you really need to raise your truck an extra 3 feet to get around Huntington Beach? Are they afraid of the speed bumps in all the strip malls?

With the oil price increase. I bet all will stick with a roof rack just to go surfing.
Hey if you ever find time please check out my blog Toyota Fans Blog maybe we could share some ideas.

The quintessential California surf truck is arguably the previous-gen Tacoma (PreRunner, because we don't get the snow but want the looks), which by the way, gets decent fuel economy with the four-cylinder.

I bought my truck because I wanted to easily transport my surfboards and snowboards. I loathe roof racks. But gas prices and subpar v6 fuel economy have me seriously considering something more efficient. I'm sure the existing fleet of surf-oriented trucks will be around for quite some time, but I'm also sure many less surfers will consider getting themselves a truck in the future.

Yeah, but do dogs love cars with roof racks? No. Dogs love trucks.
