You guys can't write an ad at all but sure can take some pictures. And come on 3 feedback?

Do I hear $101?

desmolicious says:

Awright I'm the high bidder!!
at $103.50...

levvy says:

yea, those pictures are amazing lol

automaton says:

Pictures are amazing? Really? The lighting is nice, and it is hard to make a Ferrari look bad, but that first pic especially - a dirty parking lot, lot lines that do nothing for the composition, a dumpster in the background, and what else is that back there, a used hot tub back by the dumpster?! C'mon, the main pic for selling a Ferrari should be droolworthy, not this cluttered mess.

The picture isnt that bad, sure it is a dumpster but its far away and its not too noticeable. But I think this blog picture is pretty good, it should be in the ad.

Is this one of those custom James Riswick signed models?

sadbuttrue says:

10:45 PM, 06/ 3/08

Actually, for an additional fee we're offering the winning bidder a package we call "Rolling With Riswick." Details have yet to be finalized, but it will likely involve James carving his initials into the Ferrari's foam-padded dashboard while wearing a Hawaiian shirt, sunglasses and a fake mustache.

I'd buy it if I knew the reserve or if it had a "buy it now" price...

I don't like playing bidding war games. It's a joke. Just tell me how much you want.

felonious says:

I have the honor of being the first bidder, at $101. Sadly, that is also my last bid on this item. :(

felonious says:

By the way, the location in those photos is the Rock Store, a pretty famous location in the LA area. Last time I was there, I saw Jay Leno and John Goodman. The guy who complained about the dumpster picture was pretty accurate though - you could have done a much better job of that one. :)

tulsa4runner says:

If only it came with the bear from a few months ago.

For interested parties, here's a Rolling With Riswick preview...

^Sweet! I've got my Higgins costume at home.

@tulsa4runner: According to Doug, "Princess was returned to the zoo from whence she came. In a hilarious side note, she attempted to escape a week later, and was badly burned by the electric fence. Writhing in misery, she was put down by a load of double-ought buckshot from an overly enthusiastic zookeeper."

desmolicious says:

03:28 PM, 06/ 4/08

felonius, are you saying that Leno and Goodman were there at the same time? Was there enough room?...

How about throwing in those suh-weeet DKNY sunglasses that that one butch editor wore? That would sweeten the deal.

06scooby says:

holy crap it's up to 25k with 9 days left!

I'm sad to see this one go, it provided a lot of great stories.

If only it were as worthwhile to keep as the Fit(?).

I can't believe it's been a year. Wow that was fast. I loved reading every post here. Do it again.

What is up with the auction reserve? Not that I'm going to bid, but why do I have to think how much money I'm willing to spend on an item when in the end of the day I may not meet the reserved price?

Why we just put the starting price at the minimum (reserve) price you are willing to accept for the item? And then, everybody is happy. I know that for this price I actually may have it (if nobody bids)...

tmanz says:

03:13 PM, 06/ 5/08

Before you sell it, can I borrow it next Wednesday? :)

SubyTrojan says:

06:21 PM, 06/ 5/08

tmanz, they'll probably let you borrow it for $35K or more. :o)

firstwagon says:

Price seems to have stalled below the reserve. Perhaps the reserve is too high.

redivan says:

09:08 AM, 06/ 6/08

don't cry over a reserve, people. reserve prices have been around car auctions for a long time. they've been on eBay for a while too, if you haven't noticed. it's part of the game.

and as for speculating that the price is too high, there is another whole week before the auction ends. It's a little early to call it.

in the end i bet the car is going to sell one way or another, regardless of reserve or price.

elbee says:

09:26 AM, 06/ 6/08

Something tells me Edmunds wants to get back at least some of the 5 grand they sunk into the car...I bet the reserve is 30.

firstwagon says:

"and as for speculating that the price is too high, there is another whole week before the auction ends. It's a little early to call it. "

I based my comment on the prices of other 308's offered on e-bay right now.

The only car with a bid over $30K appears to be a much better example.

The rest are in the mid to low $20's

I am suprised that there are no in house auto mechanics at edmunds. Members can vote for a project car and edmunds can put it together and do a 6 or 12 months long term test and put it on ebay. Great way to show members how to do it and doing it right with notes and videos.

Worthwhile as the Honda Fit? Don't ever mention a Honda in the same breath as a Ferrari. THAT, my freind, is an insult to anyone, me included, that has ever owned a Ferrari. Honda and Yugo, OK, or Honda and Trabant, Sure. Never ever Honda and Ferrari.

kiisaka says:

Mr. Honda was a great admirer of Mr. Ferrari, and the former's NSX was the sincerest form of flattery towards the latter.

The Honda NSX was a far superior automobile in every objective measure than the contemporary 348, and inspired Ferrari to come up with 355, which equalled the NSX, then finally with 360 and 430 which surpassed the NSX in a number of, but not all of objective measures.

It is not at all an insult to mention Honda and Ferrari in a same sentence at all. Mr. Honda and Mr. Ferrari were both brilliant engineers who were an inspiration to each other. They both left a significant mark in the automotive history though the applied their engineering towards different market segments.

dvsutton says:

03:26 AM, 06/12/08

You must be from California. Because you must be smoking somthing funny to believe the NSX was anything but a reconfigured rebadged underpowered ugly Accord. As a former 360tb owner, the NSX was not, and never will be, on my consideration list. Nor would any Honda product until the fix the damn transmission problems and fugly exteriors. NSX is a joke waiting for a punchline.

kiisaka says:

09:32 AM, 06/17/08

Wow, since you "owned" a 360tb before you could no longer afford the loan and maintenance, you must be the world authority on automotive history and design.

I am so humbled as I did not know that my NSX was just a droccA, even though it was faster than the 348, which was just another import.

You certainly have a reputation on-line, and you too seem to be from California, too. As the matter of fact, we are neighbors!!!

See you out on the road.
