2008 Scion xB: Good Clean Fun

Apparently, the cute little xB is very inviting. My son wanted to just sit inside and hang out - it was all his idea. Of course little sister has to follow along. Hey Scion, here's your lower age demographic...

In the 12 plus years I've been bringing different cars home, I'm always amazed at which ones get lots of attention and which are essentially invisible. My kids were especially fond of our Scion but I can't say exactly why. Only four other cars have been more popular with kids, neighbors and strangers - Honda Insight, Bentley Flying Spur, PT Cruiser Convertible and our long term Ferrari 308. What car would you stop and gawk at if you saw one on your street?

Bentley Flying Spur, no question.

Then again we don't really have Scion's in Canada, so there would be some curiosity there.

For me it would be the Ferrari 308. It's always nice to see an older car that is in good condition being driven.

the 308 just beats out the flying spur
its not often you would see such a beauty around and i don't find the Bentley very attractive anyways

I actually saw a Flying Spur on the highway on Sunday, in black. What a spectacular car.

But for me I'd go with the Ferrari considering I've seen plenty of Bentleys, PTs and Scions, just never a 308.

Nissan GT-R! I saw one in Culver City, CA the other day and almost walked into a busy street because it was the first one I've seen in the flesh. OK, that wasn't one of the cars you asked about... let's see... I'd have to say the 308. In So Cal, that's a much rarer sight than the Flying Spur. Additionally, the 308 is a more involving driver's car than the Flying Spur so that would be more my cup of tea.

The PT Cruiser convertible would catch my attention, but then I'd have to throw up.

I saw 1 Scion xB and it caught my attention solely because of that odd reverse light.

The Bentley would catch my attention, but probably not many others'.

The 308 has instant attraction no matter who you are. You could work in a Ferrari factory and still the 308 would turn your head.

This car's got a nice happy color, child friendly load height, and a tall roof for them to stand up crouched. And the fabric's soft. It's certainly a good playground environment. Looks like a comfortable playhouse.

The brother of one of my older friends is a developer here in Reno and just bought last summer a 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo Spider. He brought it over to Scott's new house a few weeks ago and took me for a ride in it. Talk about stopping people dead in their tracks in the neighborhood (middle class neighborhood). Teenagers driving by almost caused accidents... people taking pics with their cell phones. It was nuts.

If only I could lay my eyes on a real-life Citroen C6. What a sight that would be.

I was almost hit by a Flying Spur walking to class last week...

PT convertible? Really? I guess we all have our issues... when I was that age I loved the late-seventies smog-era Corvette my neighbor had. They'll grow out of it.

To the defense of the PT convertable. My wife owns one. This forum just proves what she says its a love it or hate it car. BTW it does get noticed out here in the sticks where I live. But me thinks its because of the driver....
