2007 Toyota Tundra SR5: The Weight

1655 lbs > (56 x 21 lbs) + (8 x 30 lbs) + 205 lbs

The above is a good thing. You see, the number on the left represents the maximum payload of our 2007 Toyota Tundra. The number on the right is how much said Tundra was payloading back to my house after a trip to the local home center. The number on the right is made up of: 56 12x12, 21 pound concrete pavers, 8, 30 pound bags of paving sand and, a soon to be decrepit, 205 pound photo editor...
The Tundra didn't seem to realize that I had put a patio in its back pocket.  Dynamically, the only noticeble difference was a smoother ride over choppy surfaces. Other than that, the acceleration, braking and steering felt much the way they did when I drove the unladen truck to the store. I might as well have filled the truck with marshmallows and good wishes.

Kudos too, to the bed liner. After a day's abuse, there was nary a divot missing from the plastic. Why any truck (especially one with an uncovered bed) would not have one, is beyond me.

Now that I think about it, the truck had the easy job that day. It hauled 1,622 pounds, once. I took 1,416 of those pounds from the shelf to the cart (1) the cart to the truck (2) the truck to the yard (3) the yard to the ground (4) for a total of 5,664 pounds. Now if I could only tow a boat...
