2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS: You're Beautiful When You're Angry

I find our long-term 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS strangely satisfying to drive around town. I say strangely because, as others have written, the Lancer's 2.0-liter engine (152 hp, 146 lb-ft of torque) doesn't feel as potent as its numbers suggest... likely because the car weighs 3,000 lbs. Part of my satisfaction comes from the car's capable suspension and biggish 18-inch tires...
You can pitch the Mitsu into a corner without feeling ridiculous.

However, I can't deny I really like the way the Lancer looks and that makes me feel good about driving it. I like that it it looks angular and sleek despite its seriously chunky size. And I like that it always looks a little angry, because frankly, I'm a little angry. Finally, a car whose expression matches my own.

The "time for service" light started coming on just after startup earlier this week, so we'll be scheduling an appointment soon. For good measure, I checked the oil and the Mitsu still has all the juice it needs.
