I got the jeep over the weekend thinking I might take off and do a solo night of camping. The girlfriend was out of town, a bunch of friends were out of town, and I had nothing to do. Even those plans got canceled since Mother Nature decided to swing a rain storm on through Southern Cali.
I mostly stayed indoors for the weekend, but on Sunday I had to scout out a new location for an upcoming shoot...
I did my scouting sitting on a towel.
After talking to some folk around here in the office Monday morning, I learned a leak from a soft-top Jeep is nothing new. I guess it's time for the super absorbent towels to be a new standard feature.

"Don't forget to bring a towel...you wanna get high?"
"You're the worst character ever Towelie."
"I know."

I guess the Jeep appeals to a certain type of outdoorsy individual who doesn't mind sleeping under the stars, catching/hunting his breakfast, and getting rained on in his vehicle.

JUST FIX IT ALREADY!

agree redliner, this is like the chevy tranny, allways talking about how broken it is, never fixing it.
I hope I would never get injuried next to an edmunds writer. I'd bleed to death before they help me. But get 3-4 stories about it.

The Mini drips on the seat, too, when you open the door. It's the design.

ya but this does it with the door closed.

My understanding was that this is a Jeep design flaw. If not, then I agree with redliner!

"You're a towel"
"You're a towel"
"No, you're a towel"
Anyway, please get it looked at at a Jeep dealership NOT in Santa Monica. I already know how that one is, and would like to hear of your experiences elsewhere.
Thank you!

This really is inexcusable for a modern vehicle. it's one thing for a used 1970 Jeep CJ to leak, but a new $30k 2007?
I really like Jeeps, but this just reinforces why I would by the optional hard top.

But, you're in a Jeep. If it says trail rated on the side, Nature should be allowed to pee on you.
That, by the way is sarcasm folks.
Maybe they should invest in a tarp and safety pin it over the fabric roof?
Does a snorkel come standard for the driver?

I think that the top needs adjusted or it isn't being installed right. But if that is not the case then just take it into the dealership already!

I would like to ask everyone for some advice. I am in a predicament I have been in a Jeep for eleven years and in a wrangler for eight of them. Had a Cherokee 86 Wrangler 2000 Sport and now in a 05 unlimited. I am in a lease and it’s up September 15th which leaves me with a decision to make. At this point I am not happy with the new Wrangler Power train, I know get in line. So I am almost committed to buying out my lease and getting ripped a new one for what I want. Other option is to give it back and fins a very low mileage 05/06 unlimited or sucks it up and buys a new Unlimited Wrangler. Would some board soul please start calling Chrysler every five minutes and asking for a diesel in the new Jeep? I promise to participate…..
