2005 Ford GT: What moves you?

Karl's recent Ford GT post declaring Peter Gabriel an acceptable accompaniment to the monster Ford got me thinking -- and questioning his sensibilities.

What would an appropriate soundtrack be?

The scene:
You're in a modded Ford GT.
You're on the PCH .  For those of you who've not experienced the road, it has long sweeping corners, amazing views, and cops...
Not the ideal spot for flat-out, high speed hoonery, but a terrific drive none-the-less.
The sun's setting and the traffic is light.

No cheating, mechanical noises (engine/exhaust) don't count unless you're playing them from a CD.

My pick: Common Rider's first and only full length album, 'Last Wave Rockers.'

How 'bout the theme from "The Dukes of Hazzard?"
or, alternatively:

For an under-appreciated, full-throttle, energy-drink of a song you could try "Lightning's Hand" by Kansas.

Hey, it was a contemplative moment. The sun had just set, the air was as clear as it ever gets in this quadrant of the state, and I was realizing that having 600-plus rear-wheel horsepower at your command is sometimes just as rewarding as using them. Lyrics like, "...I could see the city light, wind was blowing time stood still, eagle flew out of the night..." seemed to work.

But if you want to go the other direction, Sheryl Crow's "Steve McQueen" certainly works in this car.

I think we need to stick with the first, since it's the best. Solsbury Hill.

Life is a Highway by Tom Cochrane. And not that crappy Rascal Flatts version.

The Ford GT seems like it has soul.

How about Tower of Power's "What is hip?" or "Soul Vaccination"

I might also pick some James Brown, pretty much anything by him.

For something more modern, The Electric Six "Its Showtime" or "Riding on the white train"

I think "Its Showtime" would be perfect. Gotta love that line, "Hey mister, put a little mustard on that mustard!"

Highway Star - Deep Purple
A light that never goes out - Smiths (think about it)
All that Matters - Addison Road
Wide Open Spaces - Dixie Chicks

My car is light and agile, so The Best Things by Filter is my ultimate cruising song.

For the GT, I'd say The Perfect Drug by NIN or King Nothing by Metallica.

Twilight Zone - Golden Earring
Skin o' my Teeth - Megadeth (I dare any of you to listen to this song and not drive 20 mph faster in spite of the song's subject matter.)
Highway Song - Blackfoot
Go to War with us - Three-6 Mafia

Pink Floyd - "Welcome to the Machine"
Sammy Hagar - "I can't Drive 55"
Pink Floyd - "Learning to Fly"
Rush - "Red Barchetta" (great car/driving lyrics)

The same Justice that made Phantom? Awesome song.
