2008 Toyota Scion xB: Buying Experience - Piece of Cake

Whenever we have to buy a Toyota or a Scion xB I call my friend Dianne Whitmire who is, right now, working at Toyota of San Juan Capistrano. I would happily buy my Toyotas and Scions elsewhere but her prices are so good, she gets the car I want and she even anticipates what we might want and asks before I contact her.

Long story short, when we decided to get the 2008 Scion xB I contacted Dianne and told her what we wanted. She began emailing me photos of the xBs they had on their lot or the ones that were "inbound."

The only difficulty with buying the xB was the color...

When we told Dianne we wanted the Hypnotic Teal Mica she said, "You want what?!" and kept sending me photos saying, "Here's the color..." Actually, the color has generated a lot of interest and controversy which = good blog material.

Dianne arranged to have the xB delivered to my house (which is where this stunning picture was taken). It arrived on time with a full tank of gas driven by a very friendly retired gentleman who had me sign the contracts. He told me he was from an auto delivery service that hired retired folks because they were safe drivers and didn't do smokey burnouts in brand new cars. I gave him a check for $21,216 (Scions sell for sticker price) plus tax and licensing fees.

The whole thing took about 10 minutes and he didn't try to sell me any Rusty Jones.
