2007 Mitsubishi Outlander: 15,000 Mile Service Visit

We wish all service visits were as straightforward as this one we had with our 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander.

We've driven over 15,000 miles so we needed to get a tire rotation, oil and filter change, air filter replacement and a host of checks and inspections.  We headed back to Long Beach Mitsubishi even though our earlier service visits had been less than impressive. This time was different...

We got there at about 7:15 a.m. and found no one in line for service and no other customers in the service office. The service manager was there, though, and seemed glad to have something to do. I was armed with a print out from Edmunds.com Maintenance Costs section which has saved us hundreds of dollars in the past. I showed the manager what needed to be done and he, not surprisingly, whipped out the laminated sheet of services for their "specials." Often, this is followed by a pocket-picking session, but this time it fit the bill. The price tag for the work was $169.

I left the Outlander and trudged home since I needed the excercise. Two hours later the manager called and cheerfully reported that all work was complete. I headed back and paid the bill. I went outside and waited for the car to be brought up. And waited. And waited. Finally, I flagged down a service guy and lodged my complaint. I think went to see the service manager who was, by now, tied up with customers. However, moments later, the car glided into view. I snapped this cell phone photograph to commemorate the event.

Is this the same Mitsu dealer? I bet the corporate office had words after your last visit.

Did You guys get the TSB's that recalibrates the Transmission and Engine which is supposed to take care of the lurchy take off when you just start to squeeze the gas? It worked well for me and my Outie, but i want to get your guy's take on it.

Just a comment on how you paid first, then waited (x3) before you got your vehicle. Where I go, they pull the vehicle up first, then you pay. Different way of doing things, I guess. It's nice to know I can just climb in my car and drive away right away.
