2007 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE: Looks Like It's Pre-Lowered

2007 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE - E. Riches

Since I didn't drive our 2007 Nissan Altima any great distance over the weekend, my thoughts veered toward the superficial. Upon approaching it after various errands, I realized I have always liked its low stance -- and this holds true for the previous-generation model as well. Whether it's the suspension design or an illusion created by its underbody kit, the Altima appears to sit lower than other family sedans...

Only the fairly sizeable tire-fender gap gives it away as stock. If I owned an Altima, I think might give into vanity and do a plus-one switch to 18-inch wheels and tires.

In related news, I checked the pressure in our car's 17s, and finding them all about 2-3 psi down, I added air.

In unrelated news, I learned just how easy life can be with a backup camera. If you're in a parking garage with painted gridlines, you can use those in conjunction with the Altima's green-yellow-red markings to see if you're following the right line while backing into a space.
