2007 Nisan Versa SL: Turkey Day

This Thanksgiving weekend, to my amazement, the Nissan Versa was able to haul an 800 pound turkey to my in-law's house.

Not really....but on the way back from dinner (as the ODO hit 15,000 miles...) my wife and I were reminicing about her '95 Nissan Sentra that she owned for over 7 years. I hated that car. The janky clutch, the tinny feeling when you shut a door, the A/C working intermittantly , and leaky weatherstripping all drove me nuts...
Compared to my '95 Honda Civic (that I owned for almost 11 years), it needed attention constantly. I paid more for my Civic initially, but over the years, the operating costs were much lower than the Sentra's, and the resale value of the Honda was much higher.

Nowadays,  as the Sentra and Civic get bigger and pricier,  the Versa and Fit step in to take their places. Because of my past experiences and brand loyalty (or disloyalty), I wouldn't even consider the Versa if i was in the market for an econobox. Now am I being harsh? Was all of that in the past? Am I comparing apples to oranges? Maybe, but I wouldn't take the chance with my money.
