Bad day at the office. Need to blow off some steam. Pack the heat. Fire up our 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander and head for the Mojave...
One last clip. Out of hollow points. Feel better. Still no cops. Outlander good. Plenty of room for firearms. Tailgate always there to take a load off. Next time I'm hunting Yield signs. Gotta love the second amendment.

Yet one more reason for a complete ban on guns. Thousands die every year so idiots can shoot signs.

lol funny post, Scott. Not that I'm a fan of guns, but next time might I suggest shooting at the LT Compass, if that thing is still around?

Scott, you might want to think about damaging public property and then posting about it along with a photo. That was stupid. Next time, shoot something you have the right to shoot.

When edmunds.com starts comparing guns, this might be important. Now, back to the cars.

Scott. Great post. I get it, man -- no need to take life so seriously all the time. Besides, your post never states that you actually shot anything;-)

I agree. Awesome picture. The post had a Hunter S. Thompson/Fear&Loathing thing going on.
That's right, Scott. Don't take any guff off these swine. Is this how the world treats a doctor of journalism?
Woe to the vanquished. Humor is dead. But some of us still get you, bro.

I understand the humor of the post, but given the fact that Karl lost a case in court in part due to his blog, is it really smart to be posting about illegal activities?

And the Thoughtless, nonsense post of the week goes to Firstwagon. Come and get your prize. I trust you put as little thought into your acceptance speech as your kneejerk reaction to guns.
stovt001 says:

On that thought, Firstwagon, by your logic, we should also ban all cars, because thousands of people are hurt or killed each year so the Edmunds editors can drive 100+ mph on public roads. We should ban all alcohol, because countless incidents each year can be attributed to people drinking too much of it.
If that isn't the dumbest logic you have ever encountered in your life, I pity you for the company you keep. There are laws regulating the proper use of firearms (which include bans on shooting public property), the proper use of motor vehicles, and the proper use of alcohol. And when used within these limits, firearms, cars, and alcohol pose little to no threat of harm to our society. The rule-breaking of the very few should not have any bearing on the freedom of the responsible majority. They banned guns in England, so if you want to kill anyone here you just stab them with a knife instead of shooting them. I'm sure it is a huge consolation to the family of the victim that their beloved wasn't shot, just simply stabbed with a knife.
Scott, regardless of the truth or satire behind this post, its contribution to journalistic excellence and the imparting of knowledge and advice concerning the automotive word is negligible.

I'm far from California. Is it legal to shoot stop signs out there?
And I'm wondering what kind of heat you're packing that you need the Outlander to transport it, rather than something like, say, the Fit.

Sodaguy, he's referring to the blog entry where Karl got a speeding ticket driving the Mini Cooper S.

Did you use a Nikon to shoot that stop sign? Or maybe a Cannon? I use a Kodak for digital shooting but I have a nice medium format Hasslblad. As for Ducks, Pheasent, and Deer I prefer Winchester. Nice Post =-)

There was only one Hunter S. Thompson. Therefore, anyone else who does stuff like this is just an ignorant cracker. Allegedly.

Nice post Scott, it's amusing things like this that make procrastination worthwhile.
Oh, and next time, request an F-250 be included in the long term fleet. That way, you can run over the stop sign when you're finished...jk.

Thoughtless? You think I suddenly decided to be opposed to guns, because of some meanless blog?
When I was younger I thought guns were cool too. But now I've grown up and realized they serve no purpose other then to kill ( and poke holes in signs too I guess).
Believe it or not you can go through life just fine without a gun. I don't own neither does anyone I know. I have no urge to kill anything and if I really wanted holes in signs, I have a good cordless drill that would do the job nicely.
Suit yourself though, it's your country. Just try and do a better job of stopping the guns at the border.

Just because you don't care for them or they scare you doesn't mean you can impose your will on everyone else. As I said in my other post, your logic just doesn't hold water. You may not want a gun, and that is fine. Most people don't want or need one, so it is ok. Guns are not just for killing. They can also be used for sport, improving hand eye coordination, etc. And not all killing is bad. Using a gun to hunt for food isn't bad (better to give the animal a sporting chance in its natural habitat than to raise it on some awful farm in miserable conditions just to be slaughtered) and killing for self defense, the defense of your family, or the defense of an innocent person isn't bad either. The world isn't black and white, and your preference isn't the only one that matters.
