2007 Hyundai Azera Limited: Road Trip

I just spent a week with our Long Term Azera, capped off with a road trip from Long Beach to Las Vegas. It's a very good highway car. The engine is smooth and willing which makes hills and passing a breeze.

The stereo is also very good but there's no AUX jack - I had to use a cassette adaptor to listen to my iPod...

Other than that, the long stretches of open road flew by smooth and silent.

What is this "cassette" you speak of?

I wish there were a way to transfer my cassette collection to CD.

What MPG did you have on the trip? I am assuming you were at least at legal limits ;>) for the trip.

Well, scientists have developed a new mechanism for listening to music. It's a magnetic tape that's housed in a small plastic.... uh, case let's just say. This "Case -ette," if you will, can hold up to a full HOUR AND A HALF of music!!! What will they think of next!?

I was at or near the 70 mph speed limit and the car's computer said 23.5 miles per gallon.

It's funny, I stll find it hard to believe that manufacturers are STILL putting cassette players in cars... I guess I ask that because I haven't really had a use for a cassette since the mid 90's. I don't even have one in my house let alone my cars. Same goes for VHS tapes... I guess it's kind of an oxymoron, but I own a broken VCR to convert my playstation and gamecube signals to a cable connection because the TV that they are hooked up to doesn't have RCA outputs.... but the TV was free as was the VCR and I'm too cheap to go by a converter :D...

As a side note - for altimadude00 if you want to convert your cassettes to CD here's an easy way to do it...

Here is a random question..

What is that random reflection on the lower-part of the windshield just above the steering wheel?
It looks like a camera..

The cassette/CD-MP3 combination has been changed on the XM edition (now standard). No more cassette player.

It's the parking tag from the hotel i just left.

Goldie - how would I listen to my iPod on the XM version? Please DO NOT say an FM transmitter.

I for one would rather use a casette adapter than an FM transmitter.
