2007 Chevrolet Tahoe: One-year Test is Complete

Say good bye to our long-term Chevrolet Tahoe. It's hard to believe 12 months have passed since it was first introduced to the fleet. Keep an eye out for the wrap-up.

Noooooooo! I bet you are going to miss it. It really is a nice truck. I'm debating between getting either a Tahoe or a Land Cruiser in 2008. The Land Cruiser is exceptional, but there's something about the Tahoe that just draws me in. Just like the way I chose an Azera over an Acura RL.

I hope you're kidding about the Azera...

Ugh.

LOL! Everyone I know wants to smack me about getting the Azera until they ride in it. One of my coworkers was so impressed by the level of refinement that she test drove an Azera and a Santa Fe. She purchased the Santa Fe a month later. Besides, mine has the black interior. It looks much better.

Look at the interior photos from the link below...

I'm not a fan of the mismatched lighting either, but it's the same on the 2007 Camry, it just doesn't look as bad. The lights on the steering wheel controls don't match the rest on the Camry.

Although the Tahoe is a handsome truck, the more I look at the Land Cruiser, the more I love it. The interior is awesome.

It sure does seem like it has been a really short time.

Good bye!
So much love for the Silverado suspension, so much hate for the Tahoe suspension.

Well at least with the Silverado, Tundra, Enclave, and Q7 you still have all the towing or passenger hauling capacity you need.

I also agree it seems like its only been a short time, while it seems like the Fit, SRX and RAV4 have been around much longer. I bet they're next to go.

lets hope Scott Oldham will write the long term wrap up report. I'm sure it will be fair and balanced like stuff on Fox News Channel. I wonder how many times "gas guzzler", "wasteful" or "I would never buy one of these" will be used in the final summation. Its quite pointless to long term a large V8 vehicle and then complain about it being large and V8 thirsty. But that's just my opinion.

1487, I love the "fluid shot" tactic that you are using...

LOL.

Minus the clunky third row seats, I really like the Tahoe and will miss it.

Ditto on the short time part!

on another note..
I could have sworn i saw a long term wrap-up for the RAV.

Have owned a 2007 Tahoe for about a year now and really like it. It can do almost everything our old 2004 Suburban did and leaves more room in the garage. Feels solid, rides great, and steering is WAY more direct. Have taken it hunting and on back roads all over the Black Hills. Besides having fold flat third row seats, the only thing it needs is a little more power and the six-speed tranny. Would take it over a Land Cruiser or Range Rover any day.

It's a really good looking car, and i'm sure you'll miss it.

It's just too bad that Chevrolet couldn't have put some of these design cues into the Trailblazer and continued it on another platform so it could compete properly with the crossovers, because then I would have definitely considered buying one. I loved renting the Trailblazer when I had it while on holiday a few times.

Wrap up coming, or what?

Is a wrap up coming?

Seems like GM did a good job with the new GMT-900 trucks/suv's. I am renting a Tahoe next week (cant justify owning one) so it should be interesting.

...wrap up....?

GM is such a snail at any improvements!! Tahoe at 5,500 lbs hasn't lost an ounce (ever heard of Weight Watchers?)!! Tahoe still has same 30-yr-old gas hog 5.3 ltr engine, only mild hybrid offered (should have dedicated cng and bi-fuel offered!!), while fit and finish is like a cheap Ford!!

BOYCOTT all US auto dealers until they actually produce a decent product here in USA. GM has #1 cng vehicle in Germany (GM/Opel Zafira cng) but they do NOT sell it here in USA . . Come On!!

As for me, I'll drive my Honda Civic GX (dedicated cng) at just 3 cents a mile!!
