2007 Audi Q7: The Audi R8 Magnet

Here in California Audi R8s are a dime a dozen. You'll have to take my word for it, but there's a third R8 parked behind that white trailer. This photo was taken during an event at Willow Springs Raceway in Rosamond, CA.

R8's a dime a dozen? Man, I have two Audi dealerships within 30 minutes of me and I still have yet to see a new TT let alone an R8.

Pennsylvania isn't exactly R8 territory. Or a5 territory. Or TT territory. I've yet to see any of these on the road. To tell you the truth, I've only seen a handful of Q7s also. But wait, we have more than our fair share of Subaru Outbacks! Who wants to trade?

i'd rather have an r8 where there are no other r8s. then be surrounded by them. california seems to make even 'rare' cars common

I'm yet to see an R8, or an A5 or S5 for that matter. All I've seen are two TTs, which looks better than the last generation but still not for me I guess.

Ha, I live in florida, and i live in a city you guys have probably never even heard of.
i freak out if i see a lexus ls460, and in california, you probably see one every second.

In reality, these 3 R8s are the only ones I've seen around. They are all designated as "press" vehicles and their purpose is to travel around to various automotive publications for review.

It was dumb luck that we happened upon them all together like this.

I saw a red TT rag top 3.2 at Kroger today. The last TT was a looker but this new one is just in a whole different league altogether. The stance, the detail, the stance, the aggression.....the car is just about perfect. Ive decided that Audi produces rolling works of art. Im not and have never been a huge TT fan, but on the styling front, Audi hit the nail.

Just wanted to add that although the TT is a gorgeous car its not for me as I have a simple, raw, refined, raw, driving machine....my 2002 S2000.

Haha, I live in California and the only R8 I've seen was in Austria... until next week when I get to drive one!

Maybe it's just the cars around me, but I only see the most boring colors on Audi's high-line cars. There are three RS4's in my area, and they're all grey. Maybe it's just me, but if I dropped that much cash on a car, I'd get a more distinctive color than grey or silver. =)
