If you'll remember from previous posts , the stereo in our Q7 was on the fritz in perhaps the most annoying way ever. 17 seconds on, 4 seconds off. 17 on. 4 off. Nothing we tried could remedy the situation and the professionals had to be called in...
The dealership also made us aware of two "open campaigns" on our Q: An MP-3-cd changer update, and a software update for the automatic rear hatch.
All services were performed under warranty at no cost to us.

One peek at that photo scares me away from the Q7. Look at all the complexity. What are the odds that something will break, and then, what will it cost to fix it once it's out of warranty?

I agree. Even the technogeeks would find this view intimidating, and the red doesn't help.
Holding onto this thing post-warranty will not be for the light of wallet, that's for sure.

I agree, but it sure is nice! Its bad when your race cars are more relaible than your street cars.

While Audi interiors can look a little intimidating at first, I've never found a problem finding a control in one. I am, however, often labeled as a technogeek, so take it however you like. =)

i'm not doubting that the controls could be easy to use.
but WOW. so many buttons. and switches. ground control this is the shuttle, we are ready for lift off...
now whats the order i start this thing in? just the shear number of buttons by the shifter is creeping me out.

I lease an '05 A8 that curently has 33,000 miles and I have not had any electrical problems at all. The dash has a similar layout but I do not find it intimidating even though I am not a technogeek. That said, the germans sometimes tend to add complexity where it is not necessary.

it's so funny how defensive VW/Audi owners (the precious few that don't burn effigies of these companies that is) are...everytime you say something - bam...they come out swinging! A lot like a lot of GM fans out there (the obligatory shut up, no one cares goes out to 1487).

I actually REALLY dig the look, but I recently owned a VW and it gave me nothing but trouble when I wasn't experiencing farfegnugen.

sddoc07, before I read your last sentence I was going to comment if you had been over to the Aura or Accord blogs lately. I'd say the "defense of VW/Audi" comments on here at least have been downright tame compared to the Aura blog's ridiculousness.
