Yay! I got it to shut up! After having to endure our Mitsu Lancer's beeping every time I changed the satellite radio station during a five-hour round-trip drive to and from Willow Springs, I couldn't stand it anymore when I realized our 2008 Scion xB had the same annoying feature, too. Fortunately, it didn't take long for me to figure out how to turn it off, and without the manual...

If you were too old, you wouldn't have heard the beep at all. ;-)

The Mazda6 is like this too, incredibly annoying.

I hate things that beep. I even turn the beeps on my cell phone off so they don't make noise every time I push a button. The only things that should beep are reminder that you left your keys in the ignition, if you open the door and the lights IF you open the door.

The Mazda6 system does beep, but like the Scion, it can be disabled. It drives me nuts, but my dad likes it for reasons I can't understand. To each their own, I suppose.

My Mazdaspeed 3 audio system does the beep by default. It was easy to figure out how to disable it. I did leave the KnightRider style animated LED action on though, just to prove I'm not _that_ old.
