The second-generation Mini Cooper is 3 inches longer than the first generation model. But its 146.2-inch overall length is still quite petite as cars go, and that allows for easy parallel parking. The Mini is actually the shortest car sold in America save for the upcoming 2008 Smart Fortwo. As such, it's quite the functional urban runabout...

Brent- with only 146.2" and limited cargo space, did you have a hard time transporting your equipment for flag practice?

It was a challenge, but I managed. :)

We love using the Cooper for beach trips as we can always find parking in La Lolla & Coronado with it. Plus as it's got leatherette, we don't worry about wet swimsuits hurting the interior. And finally the key breaks down so it's easy to take the fob off, stow it and lock the doors with the detachable metal key. That key slides easily into a wetsuit's interior pocket.

Small size makes for an ideal city car.
I love that about my Miata. The bonus with a convertible is that you can see practically every corner when the top is down.
