Guess we need to have our editors declawed. Not really sure what goes into making a steering column scratch-proof. Looks like Toyota hasn't quite figured it out either...

OK so my parents 2007 toyota yaris also have these scratches around the ignition and its caused from trying to find the ignition to stick the key in while in the dark. You know i have noticed that toyota seems to be downgrading their interior materials over time. I own a 1996 toyota camry and there are no hard touch cheap plastics anywhere and the ignition lights up when you open the door. It looks like this one doesnt do it anymore, also my 96 has no scratches near the ignition b/c it is covered with soft touch, high quality plastic around the dash area.
