2007 Mitsubishi Outlander: Road Notes

Making a quick weekend run between LA and Sacramento in our long-term Mitsubishi Outlander, I noticed a couple of things:

1) As the Mitsu's bright nav screen clearly depicts, Arvin, Calif. is truly in the middle of no where.

2) The last line on the Outlander's warning screen: Grammar was lost in translation.

3) A quick 1,000-mile round trip takes its toll on adults and seven-year-olds alike...

At least the Outlander offered plenty of little spaces for sleeping beauty to store her road gear.

Fuel economy update:  Average 19.06 mpg over the life of the vehicle

The Outlander's MMCS seems to have several grammatical errors within, did Mitsu forget to run spell-check? They have enough of a presence in the U.S. where you'd think they'd catch these things. It seriously makes me question the quality of the software. Sheesh.

I've seen worse grammatical errors come out of the US. Although, what else would you expect with Miss Teen South Carolina as a representative? =)

Here's what tryan was referring to:

The poor translation isn't a surprise for a Japanese product although over the years, you would think things would have improved greatly from the poorly translated Nintendo games some of us played as children.

By the way, that's a great photo, Kelly! I'm inclined to think your daughter is brighter than Miss Teen South Carolina, too! :o)

Has anyone figured out if you can play an iPod movie through the MMCS yet?

If you have the composite audio/video cables that work with the iPod, you can plug them into the auxillary jacks in the back seat (at the base of the center console) and turn the MMCS to "AUX". If you have the rear screens it will play while driving. If not, then it will only work when you're stopped.
