2007 Chevy Tahoe: The Pride of Texas

The other day I noticed this sticker in the driver's door jamb of our Chevy Tahoe. My father always told me to take pride in my work and the people that built the SUV obviously do. The fact that our Tahoe has proven to be bulletproof after almost 17,000 miles in just eight months is further proof.

Sadly they're probably Ranger fans...

Go Yanks.

I wish I had one built in the U.S. My '99 Suburban was built in Mexico, and there's no "Built with Pride in Mexico" stickers on it (nor would I want any). Although I must say it was built well and still going strong with 162k on the clock so far. This is the second Mexican built vehicle that was built well that I've owned - the first was a '96 Ford Contour which I put 130k miles on with few problems.

It would be interesting to see quality and reliability differences between the two plants (if any).

Ah GM Arlington. Forget about the Rangers and Yanks, the new Cowboys stadium is coming :D

It's good to hear the positive stories about American (and in this case, GM) vehicles. A lot of the people I know think American cars are just patently unreliable, and while there was a time when I might have agreed with that, I just don't think that's the case any more. I still drive my Mazda most of the time for the driving dynamics, but the '98 Chevy Venture with 140k miles that I use for trips still runs like a champ.

I think most Texans are 'stros fans. The Rangers are about as exciting as the Camry (see next blog).

This got me curious so I went out to my Yukon Denali XL and checked the door. HA. I've only had it four months and just noticed for the first time the sticker for Janesville Assembly.
