Long-Term Road Tests

Daily updates on our fleet of cars and trucks

2007 Chevy Silverado LT: Traveling Companion

I put a lot of miles on our long-term Chevy Silverado this weekend, from a long highway drive to a gig on Friday night to a trip up the coast to the beach on Saturday. And despite its enormity, the Silverado is really very easy to get along with. The brakes yank it down, it handles freeway undulations and road imperfections better than expected, and it's easy to park.

Bear in mind that the theory of relativity is at play here...

It's still an enormous pickup truck, not a groovy little sports car or sedan. But I vastly prefer it to our long-term Chevy Tahoe, which has a much bouncier ride, looser handling, and worse sight lines. The Silverado is exactly what you'd expect from a huge pickup, and more.

I wonder if we could take a quick poll, Tahoe vs. Silverado...
