Jeep Compass Limited: Stuck at 68

For some odd reason the outdoor temperature gauge on the Jeep Compass Limited has been stuck at 68 degrees all week. Now it’s clearly much hotter here these days and the most I’ve seen it go up is one or two degrees. Funny, the weather reports have been claiming highs in the mid-80’s. Could just be those weather reporters, they’re always a little off!

Is it just me or are those gauges really ugly? I know it's a jeep but that looks like it came from 1987.

I have a chevy colbalt that would often do this. Although it wouldnt last for any longer than 2 days at a time. Also, the idle looks pretty low on that compass.

The gauges appear to have some sort of compass-like theme to them - note the little arrows at N, S, E and W.

The reason that the idle is so low is probably because of the CVT Transmission.

Maybe the temp gauge is just saying how cool you are driving the Compass?

OK....Maybe not.

I'm so glad we are having a meaningful discussion about one of the more critical components of this vehicle. If that isn't long-term road test material...

The gauges look fine. Is there something wrong with 1987?.....
Simple, effective, clear gauges are great.
