2007 Chevrolet Silverado: 14-foot molding

2007 Chevrolet Silverado -- Brent romans

I used our long-term Silverado to transport a couple pieces of 14-foot molding yesterday for some interior home improvement. The material is flexible so it was nice to have it easily supported. I just opened the power-operated rear window and ran the molding up to the dash. I also had a few pieces of 7-foot molding that I secured in the bed...

Using the Chevy for this task still felt like overkill – pulling a 25-foot travel-trailer is more suited to its strengths. But carrying the 14-foot pieces wouldn't have been nearly as easy in a car or even a mid-sized SUV.

A minivan would have done this job well also.

I've done that in a Miata =]. Just look out for low flying planes.

A minivan wouldn't have handled '14 ft' long material well at all. Not nearly enough length inside. Maybe 10 or 12 feet max before you'd have had to leave the rear hatch open. Now, an Avalanche with the midgate and tailgate both down would've worked pretty well for this though. ;o)
