2007 Audi Q7: Heated Steering Wheel

They say you learn something new every day. Today I learned that our Q7 has a heated steering wheel.

The button is tucked behind the lower-left spoke of the wheel, just out of sight. Just out of sight also applies to the heated wheel option on the window sticker of our Q7. It is nowhere to be found...

A visit to the Audi of America website confirms that the heated steering wheel is standard equipment on the 4.2 Premium. Mystery solved.

Are their any other hidden buttons on the steering wheel? I bet heated steering wheel is nice for winter. During the summer, just park without a shushade.

What if they made a car with transitions like the glasses? They never get completely dark and also it lets you see out at night. That would be cool (and likely$$$ too)

Heated and cooled seats. Heated mirrors and heated washer fluid for your headlights. Heated and cooled cupholders and glove boxes. Heated steering wheels.

What will they think of next?

Heated steering wheels are not that new. BMW has had them for years. Nissan even offers it on the Pathfinder, and I'm sure other Nissan/Infiniti models too.

...And yes, they are nice in the winter.

Heated back-up camera lenses! (2007 BMW X5)

The new S-Class (and some other Germans) has a completely heated washer system - reservoir, lines, nozzles and even the wiper blade parking area.

One can only imagine what they will think of next.... heated tires??

Let's not forget that burning desire for a heated gearshift knob...
(no pun intended...)
