I'm surprised nobody has noted this before, but our long-term Nissan Versa's passenger airbag cover no longer fits properly -- and hasn't for quite a while. Despite repeated attempts to fit it back into place, it just stays there with its back left corner lifted off. It looks like something's trying to squeeze its way out of the dashboard. I'm an optimist, so I'll just assume that the airbag isn't about to blow out at any minute, scaring the bejesus out of an unsuspecting passenger as they gaze at traffic oozing by at LA's typical 3 mph...

Um, that strikes me as a bigger fit and finish flaw than Camry's steering wheel design, for example....

wow, love that high quality luxurious Versa interior.
not saying the Fit's interior F&F is perfect but the one minor flaw in mine is way, way less noticeable than that.

No worries, all! Its occupants would succumb to the interior's toxicity well before the improperly-fitted airbag cover would do them in!

Damn.
Was the Versa sold like that, or did the airbag cover become displaced later on during ownership?
" but our long-term Nissan Versa's passenger airbag cover no longer fits properly"...
Looks like maybe a clip broke.

That IS one thing I'd take it in and allow the service department to attempt to fix.

Ok ok guys, let's not get crazy here, that could just be the angle of the picture. No wait, lighting, yeah that's it!

Has the staff been "importing" things from Mexico again? Doubt border-patrol checks under the airbag cover.

We actually have been. We're running a very lucrative authentic Sonora poncho business, and starting to dabble in Aztec turquoise jewelry. They don't fit under the airbag, cover, though. That's the type of importing you were thinking of, right?

Who needs an airbag cover anyways! All they do is get in the way of the airbag. If i were you, i would just rip of the cover and it would be"problem solved". You could also try duct tape (hehe) :P

Good idea, redliner! If you can't fix it, duct it! j/k

You sure there is still an airbag under there? Air bag theft is a big deal now.

C'mon, desmolicious! We're not that close to USC here in Santa Monica! j/k! USC is really safe these days! :o)
Btw, it'd be cool if you put some pics of your 330i (E46 w/ ZHP?) up on your CarSpace ( http://www.carspace.com - gotta make the shameless plug) site!

Only if I can put pics up of it next to my bro's Unimog 500. That thing is insane.
