I made the long drive home to see Mom on her day. Seeing that I had to work most of Friday, I got a pretty late start. I haven't driven our RAV4 for some time. In fact, I think the last time I drove our RAV4 it still had the window stickers on it.
I was in a rush; I threw in all my luggage and yes, my laundry, too, to head home. Once I got out on the road and stuck in the morass of traffic, I was more attune to the A/C. The cascade of buttons to control the HVAC was confusing to me while glancing down in slowly moving traffic. However, once it got dark and all the symbols were illuminated and the shapes of the dials and buttons were lost it simplified the design to me and I didn't feel as stupid.
In the middle of San Joaquin Valley the radio station I was listening to was drowned out by static. I tried to change to another station but the display went dead and it locked on a Mexican oompah station. I tried to turn off the radio after failing to change the station but it wouldn't turn off. I got worried but as strange as it started it suddenly stopped. The display came back and the scan button worked. Needless to say, it felt a little creepy to have the dashboard haunted in the middle of nowhere on the I-5.

Ummm, given the other posts about this radio's whack-job behavior patterns, when are you guys gonna make a stink & get it replaced?

They don't even need to make a stink - Toyota has had an official fix available since January. Of course, someone actually has to take the vehicle in to have the work done...

is it a technical glitch of Toyota or is it because of the third party bluetooth installation?
