I feel like it's been forever since I've driven a huge vehicle and I forget how much I like being so much higher, and bigger, than everyone else. Sitting in rush-hour traffic isn't so bad when you can see the horizon and over the tops of fellow motorists. HA ha! I have to say, though, that I still prefer our old long-termer, the Nissan Titan , over the Silverado...
And while I take extra care when driving our test cars anyway, I take extra extra care in this vehicle -- park on the street away from other cars instead of in my car port, avoid tight side streets on the drive home, park the truck in the fast-food parking lot instead of attempt to maneuver it through the drive-thru. The city feels too small for this truck. But I know it's perhaps just a matter of my driving the Silverado every day to get used to its size and truck handling.

Once you go big you can never go back. Years ago I had a tiny car and people were always changing lanes on top of my car causing a lot of near misses. I'm in a bigger vehicle and that has never happened to me since. So much for smaller cars avoiding accidents better!

Near misses are still misses, yes?

Big trucks = big problems in West LA. Been there done that in a Dodge Ram (regular cab, no less), and I appreciate my zippy Mazda 3 so much more now. You have my sympathies, Caroline.
