During our ongoing kitchen remodel project, I'm always looking for quiet places to do a bit of work. A couple of days ago that place turned out to be the cabin of our 2007 Chevrolet Silverado long-termer parked in front of my house.
My wireless router's reach extends to the curb (don't bother, it's encrypted) so with Treo in hand I was truly in business. To my surprise, my laptop fit perfectly on the center console. I wasn't driving, and frankly wouldn't recommend it, but for those who use their Chevy truck as an office while parked at the job-site, this is a very welcome set-up.
The area is perfectly flat, and there's a significant lip behind to keep my Dell from sliding forward. The keyboard is too far away to do any real typing, but I can easily see the screen to see maps, e-mail, or whatever. And my wireless mouse works well on the flat center armrest. Wide-screen computers need not apply, however, as they probably won't fit between the seat bolsters.

I have one of those, D610? Nice machine. I sure could go for the D820 though, but that is a 15.4 WS, so I'd have to pass up the Silverado.

There was a guy in California not long ago that had a fatal crash while typing. I guess its time for another sticker on keyboards (apart from the one that warns for carpal syndrome) warning against driving and typing!!!!
