Several weeks ago, our Long Term Silverado sustained some minor body damage (http://66.160.188.111/roadtests/641). Today, we dropped it off at Burke's Auto Body in Long Beach, California. We hope to have the big truck back on the road soon.
The Silverado looked a little odd sitting next to freshly painted sedans and coupes. All the other cars looked so sparkling compared to the Silverado - It's been covered with a layer of brake dust, sand, mud, grit and dead leaves since we got it...
Maybe once the damage is fixed we'll be motivated to buff it with a fine chamois. Or not - trucks aren't supposed to be pretty.

Mr. Moody,
So, your saying that nobody has washed the Silverado since you got it, and it has 6,901 miles on it?

I may have overstated it a bit - it certainly hasn't been washed much.

Why can't a vehicle be both pretty *and* useful? Are you gonna start neglecting the long-term Fit too just because it's 'an economy car, and economy cars aren't supposed to be pretty. They're supposed to be frugal..' ?? ;-)

No Jerry, it's just that there's something bout a dirty truck that says TRUCK. Like somehow it's tougher or more rugged because it's not babied. Maybe it's just me.
A dirty economy car just looks... well, sad.

Did I mention how much I hate repaints? ;-)
Glad to see it will be back on the road soon though.
