Im embarrassed to say that Ive been driving the Compass for over six months now and I just realized that the handle-like space on the drivers seat console actually pops open to become this nifty cell-phone holder. The truth is I never looked for such a feature because the Compass has so much other storage space for small items. The two large cup holders under the console really function as my carry-alls for the garage opener, phone, keys, you name it. -

actually the reason your razor doesn't fit particularly well is that it is designed to be an iPod /mp3 player holder. Just though you might like to know. Still a nice idea on the part of the designers though.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone else drive this car?

if there isn't anyone else that drives this car - that is all I will ever need to know about it.

Thanks for your comment, I was intrigued enough to look back at the Compass website to confirm the intended use for this armrest compartment and I quote, "Open the panel on top of the center console armrest and you'll find a rubber-lined holder for secure storage and transport of an MP3 player or cell phone."
To highlight the point, it's called the MP3/ Cell Phone Holder.
Indeed they may be promoting the IPod, but my cell phone still doesn't fit!

Well Rzrs are thin but quite wide. My old V551 is fat but less wide. Bottom line: You cannot get a universal cellphone case that securely holds every cell. You are lucky that your cell fits, even tightly :)
