Barreling down the road in a large pickup truck has got to be some of the most fun you can have. Now, I'm not really a truckin' kind of gal, but toss me the keys to a pickup and I'm laughing.
And thank the maker I can reach the pedals with the adjustable pedal button. When I climbed in last night, the gas pedal was on the floor and I had a hard time getting my tootsies comfortable...
As Caroline mentioned in a previous post, the Silverado does not have a grab handle to help you climb in. For those of us who are vertically challenged, adjustable pedals are a comforting feature.
You should have seen the comedy of errors of me trying to climb into the Silverado. Next time, I'll take pictures of that, you know just for yuks.

I can't recall the exact scene or circumstances, but I believe "thank the maker" was a line from C3PO.

Not to be rude, but I'm new. Edmunds sure has a lot of editors!
Ah well, all the better to test more cars...

Use the steering wheel in lieu of the missing pillar-mounted (vision impairing) grab handle. I also would love one, being a 5'8" guy, but the steering wheel / step board on my Av works well. Yeah, I know your test truck doesn't have steps or running boards- sorry. One of the first things I put on my 04 Silverado Z-71 4x4 was a set of full length stainless steel tube steps, and for that very reason!
