We're back at the Lost Coast Brewery in Eureka, California. And this time, we're not killing time waiting for a ride, as the Tahoe is running just fine. No, this is just a normal lunch break, and I'll be back behind the wheel in an hour. Needless to say, I'm drinking iced tea...
The road has been soaking wet, as the rain is coming down in buckets. The redesigned interior is a real hit with everyone. It's pleasantly laid out and looks quite good. My wife has been making particularly good use of the heated seats. I've been messing around with the wipers, going from intermittent to low to high as we drive through the squalls. I've never been fond of the old GM corporate cruise control stalk, and I don't love it here either, re-purposed as a wiper control. It works well enough, I guess, but I might have preferred a clean-sheet design. On the other hand, the new cruise control's location and layout on the steering wheel, is excellent.

Interesting comment on the GM corporate control stalk. That has always been one of the things I have like about GM cars.... being able to get into any GM car any year any make or model, from about the early 80 to now and have them all function basically the same.... a bit mundane and archaic I guess, but if it works, don't fix it. I guess I just don't think it needed work.
We rented a Colbalt for the Christmas holiday and while a nice vehicle, it did take me a few minutes to figure the wipers. It also took me a bit to find the odometer reset button too (a comment was made about the Silverado's being oddly located as well.) Once I learned where the reset button was and how to scroll through the cars function computer it was fine though...
