I'm channelling Etta James. "At last the skies above are blue" I finally got to drive the Miata. I mean really drive. Whenever I get to take it home, I get stuck in unfair traffic...
She's quick, shifts easily, sounds sporty, is small and flexible enough to weave in and out of traffic, takes corners with precision. "I found a thrill to press my cheek to, A thrill that I have never known"

How is it determined who gets to drive which long-term cars? Seniority? Names from a hat? Karl takes the GT and everyone else mud-wrestles for the rest?

Karl owns the GT

Karl stepped up to the plate and bought a GT so that you, the reader, could benefit from his ownership experience. He says he'll let me take it for a spin, brave soul that he is. So I'll let you know my impressions afterwards.
As for the rest of the cars, we swap regularly and try to get the entire staff into each car.

Cool. Was just curious.
And, I'll point out, that in the long-term reviews the standard editorial voice is used, giving the impression that it was bought the same way all the other long-term test cars are. I must have missed the long-term entry, or not read between the lines enough, to see that he actually owns the GT.
