Ouch. Those performance numbers really pale in comparison with the rest of the competition. 0-60 on over 10 seconds? 1/4 mile at under 80mph? Thats slow. If I were in the market for a small SUV, I'd skip this and get an Escape or Tucson.
This thing needs power pronto.

Its along the same as what the other mags got. Before you skin the Compass, keep in mind that an automatic CRV isn't much faster than 0-60 in ~10s.

0 – 60 in 10.5 seconds is bad?
I can remember when the BMW 2002 debuted back 30 years or so. That's about the same time it did 0 – 60, and it was hailed as being very quick—and created a whole new class of sport sedan that has evolved into the current 3-Series!
My how times have changed...

Exactly, especially since we have 3-series coupes & sedans blasting to 60 in around half that time (or less!).

I've stated before that I think the Compass is all wrong for Jeep from a marketing standpoint. Patriot, yes. Compass, no. I'll be dumbfounded if the Compass makes it into a second-generation model...

10 seconds is bad for an SUV? Not really.
This is an SUV, even if it's a crossover, they don't come close to the times we see on cars.
Most SUVs get 9 second+ 0-60.
