As Donna noted in a previous post, the Honda Civic Si's audio system is pretty "mega." In times past, I relied on its auxiliary input mini-jack port for my audio listening pleasure. But this situation ended yesterday when my Iriver MP3 player developed a fatal flaw. Thankfully, our Civic offers a number of different audio choices: regular radio, XM satellite radio and a CD player that can play MP3 or WMA files. I was happy about the availability of the latter because my music collection is in Microsoft's WMA format...
I loaded up one of those WMA CDs into the Civic and was impressed. The Civic's audio system is super-easy to use (no reading of the owner's manual required) and I liked how the song's different ID tags could be displayed. You can't do playlists this way, and you can't access your entire music collection, but being able to see songs on the head unit and use the Civic's steering wheel-mounted audio controls is significantly less distracting (and therefore safer) than fiddling with the controls of a portable MP3 player.

Simply fantastic. This usualy worries me as these devices claim multi-capability but usually only work on the lot, over time I find certain cds have issues, or the system of menues (for example if files are in a folder) causes problems. Sounds like this player is right up with honda quality though, just making me more excited. Of course if you roll down the windows under an overpass you can get a hold of the real soundtrack ha ha :)

I talked an employee of mine into getting a 06 Civic LX coupe, as she was having tremendous issues with her 1995 Dodge Neon coupe. She wanted a 5 speed coupe but she ended up with a automatic.
She absolutely loves the car, and she always comments on how she can customize the welcome messege on the LCD screen. Ive driven the car several times and I found it to be quite nice for a car of this price. Its solid, handles very well even in LX form and is pretty quiet while accelerating and cruising. The 1.8 is suprisingly peppy even though its an automatic, and given the cars weight. Overall a nice solid, affordable, refined, high quality, sporty driving, efficient, low maintenence, modern entry coupe. This has...no this is the best all around compact car. I cant wait for my Si sedan!

I should have also mentioned there's a "Honda Music Link" accessory that allows one to directly connect an Apple iPod into the Civic's audio system. I don't have detailed information about it, but it is shown on Honda's automotive website. -- Brent Romans

The only thing I don't like about the LCD is that with MP3 or WMA files it doesn't scroll any of the information. Or anyway: it didn't when I had an MP3 CD in there this weekend. A minor gripe, but still. (:
