Solstice: Sometimes You Don't Need Subtlety

2006 Pontiac Solstice clutch pedal - Erin Riches

Just a comment in passing for all you prospective Pontiac Solstice buyers. Much as you'd expect in a car with a transmission sourced from a pickup truck, the clutch engages like a light switch -- minimal progression... it grabs and you better get your foot out. It lacks any kind of delicacy and, ordinarily, I don't like it...

Except when I'm wearing wedges or heels. Delicacy is impossible when you're wearing this kind of shoes, so the Solstice's get-in, get-out clutch is actually an advantage.

A trivial detail to report on? You betcha, but I'm lazy and don't always carry a pair of sneakers with me. And, by the way, I do take the trouble to match revs on downshifts while wearing my wedges.

I think it is awesome that you take the time to rev match on your downshifts even while wearing your wedges. very good. My website is looking for a female driver to help us put a promo video together maybe we could recruit you for this task! Just a thought
