2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser: Fuel Economy

2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser -- Brent RomansHere's an update on our 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser's fuel economy. In 8,000 miles of driving, we've averaged 17.2 mpg. The best recorded tank so far was 23.8 mpg. The worst was 11.8 mpg. For reference, the EPA gives the FJ Cruiser 4WD automatic a 17 mpg city/21 mpg highway rating...

Thanks for update.

Pretty poor mpg for smallish suv.

You think it's smallish? have you seen one up close? They're rather large IMO; no, not full-size, but still pretty big.

Passed two of them on the highway on the same day while in my Avalanche. Besides proving that they're selling well (hence two in one day), I also clearly got the size picture. Definitely smallish midsize. Bigger than the RAV4s, Elements, and Sidekicks for sure, but about on par with the Highlander (maybe a tad shorter in overall length).
