2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser -- Odeur de Garçon

2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser -- Mike SchmidtOn Saturday, I took our Toyota FJ Cruiser to California's Yosemite National Park for a day hike to Nervada Falls. (Our FJ seems to be the vehicle of choice for trips into the Sierra Nervada mountain range; Inside Line's editor-in-chief and senior photographer have also used the Toyota for such purposes recently.) The FJ proved to be a fun vehicle for my passengers – three male teenagers visiting from France as part of a foreign student exchange program.

The boys entertained themselves during the drive by flipping through XM satellite radio stations and singing along with Beatles tunes courtesy of a hooked-up MP3 player. As the driver, I enjoyed the vehicle's responsive powertrain, comfortable seating and attention-getting exterior styling...

The only downside to the trip is that it seems to have rekindled a cetain funk generated by the FJ Cruiser's frequent transportation of sweaty hikers and campers. Referring to the FJ's interior, one of our female staffers said, "It smells like boy in there." Further application of Febreze is in order.

The "Beetles"? Are they anything like the *Beatles*? :-)

Ah, yes, thank you. Perhaps it's the French way to spell it.
