Toyota FJ Cruiser recall: tire mounting

Our FJ Cruiser, and thousands of others, will be paying a visit to the dealer to have its tires inspected. Toyota tells us a possible problem with the way the tires were mounted on the wheels could have caused some damage to the tire beads, which might lead to an air leak. No one has complained, but Toyota is implementing a voluntary recall to be sure no one does. Owners will take their FJs to a dealer, who will confirm the VIN falls in the affected range and then examine the tires for evidence of the problem...

Any suspicious ones will be replaced without charge. If you're an FJ owner, be watching for a letter.
