Mitsubishi Eclipses My Cranium

Have you ever seen an object ahead of you and lowered your head to miss it, but it wasn't quite far enough? BONK. Have you ever stood up and misjudged how close that inanimate object overhead really was? BONK. I'm sure we can all relate. Now, imagine this. You are driving your car around town - - in a permanent state of bonk. This is my experience with our long-term Eclipse.

A couple of important details: (1) I stand at just over 6' 1" tall, and (2) our Eclipse has a sunroof. Both of these are anti-headroom factors, but try as I might I still can't find a way to fit comfortably in this car. With the seat lowered to the floor my forehead rests firmly against the headliner. With the seat significanlty reclined I have headroom, but my arms aren't long enough to hold the wheel as I like. Moving the seat forward or aft is also futile.

A telescopic steering wheel might solve this problem, or alternatively, no sunroof. But in the meantime, my 30-90 minute commute (based on traffic) has the makings of a chiropractor's dreams. My advice if you're in the market for an Eclipse, or any car for that matter... test drive it first.
