It's all about the little green light. For those readers who don't know, the Honda Accord Hybrid is powered by a V6 engine that features cylinder deactivation technology. In certain driving situations, the car's computer management system inperceptibly shuts down three of the car's six cylinders to conserve fuel. It's a pretty neat feature and works so smoothly that the only way the driver knows it's operating is by the tiny green "Eco" that lights up on the hybrid powertrain readout display. I've found myself recently having a Pavlov-like response to that green light...

Kind of sounds like how I used the instant MPG feature in my Silverado. I learned to drive to keep the number as high as possible, and now that I've stopped paying attention to it I find that I still use some of the habits gained while doing it. The result is that I usually achieve great mileage with it, especially being an extended cab 4x4 truck running around in the mountains of NC.

I own a 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid with Navagation and also before this owned a 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid. I am looking at the purchase of a 2007 Honda Accord Hybrid. With Navagation: I want the Power of the 253 HP and the Fuel Economy of the Honda 4-Cyclinder. The 2007 HAH gives you the best of BOTH IMO. So this Article has been a Help to me.
