Eclipse GT: Sensual body lines vs. rearward visibility

2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT - E. Riches

I've had occasion to parallel-park our long-term Mitsubishi Eclipse GT three times in the last 24 hours. Suffice to say, it's not all that much fun with the car's rising beltline and broad C-pillars. The question is does the Eclipse look good enough to justify the sacrifice?..

For me, the answer is maybe. Sometimes, that nose and those big eyes are too much for me. Other times, I like its collection of curves and contours, and that Sunset Pearlescent paint looks pretty appealing when sunlight hits it.

Driving our coupe also leaves me with mixed feelings. I like the way it rides, the way it shifts and the way its engine sounds. But I could do without its squealing tires, torque steer and large turning radius.
